Hall
The
National Trust say: Late
17th-century house with sumptuous interiors. The decoration
includes wood carving by Grinling
Gibbons, superb plasterwork,
and painted
murals and ceilings by Louis Laguerre
and there is a fine collection of portraits. The Great Staircase
is one of the most elaborate of its kind in an English house.
The Long Gallery featured in the BBC’s Pride and Prejudice.
